Day 2 - We were warned that today would be one of the biggest jumps in altitude. Our aim was to make it to Namche Bazar (3440m) in appox 7-8hrs. We set off at around 8am and started along the trail which was mostly just a gradual climb along the riverside. There were a couple of blowy moments but nothing too difficult Yet!
We stopped for lunch just through the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park where I fed my new addiction for green chili sauce which i covered over my noodles.
Part 2 of the day was when things became a little bit tougher. We had a few members of our team that we feeling unwell, mostly I think due to upset stomachs had been suffering with sickness from the night before and found the climb very unpleasant. Alan started to have some trouble with his breathing so was having to take things very slowly. That being a very wise decision as we were all constantly made aware of the effects of altitude sickness. Neil was also unwell and was struggling to adapt to seatless toilets :)
After crossing the Larja Bridge. (the highest suspension bridge in the park) we had a very steep 600m climb to Namche Bazar. This zigzagging path seemed to go on forever. Finally as we all made it into the clouds to Namche Bazar it started to snow.
