What!
Yesterdays Guide at Jökulsárlón told us that it rarely snows in this area. hmmm!

WTF! A lorry left its exhaust in the road and it ripped a gash in our front tyre. The wheel change was swift as it was bloody freezing.
Back towards Vík
Mechanic at Vík. Confirmed tyre needed replacing. Confirmed he didn't have another of this type of tyre.

As we were passing by Skogafoss, i had to see it with snow.

Hekla in the distance and a perfectly clear sky. My fingers were crossed it would stay that way through the evening.

That night in a nearby restuarant we asked for the house special. We got Horse.
The sky remained clear and the Northern Lights were visible
I'd signed up to an Aurora Alert website so i knew that the chances were high
Standing out in the cold has never been so rewarding
Green bands would appear sometimes instantly.
There was a few huge coloured curtains of light but they didn't last long enough to capture.
