A part of me didn't want to come here until i did the Coast to Coast walk. Who knows when i'll get the time to do that, so decided to just go for it an see why it's the chosen end to the epic route. It turns out, Robin Hood's Bay is gorgeous and packed with charm.

The start of the coastal path wasn't obvious from the bottom of the road but we found it and followed it not really knowing what was to come.

The cliff path had some varying quirky features.

Carrying along the cliff path for a little longer.

ravenscar was a little bit deflating. I didn't take any photos there. We stopped for a quick drink and then turned back following the disused rail line.

I read this online -Locally mined rock was combined with human urine, brought up by barge from London, to make Alum which helped fix dye to cloth for the emerging UK textile industry.

Some of the obstacles they must have overcome to make this rail line are visible in many areas. you can see where they had to build up the ground with huge banks of soil and rock to keep the line level. A photo couldn't capture that. go see for yourself.

I actually liked this part of the walk more than the coastal cliff tops.
