You can see some epic views from above Keswick but which one is the best? Latrigg? Dodd? Catbells? or could it be today's view from Walla Crag?
The ascent of Walla Crag is pretty quick so we added in Bleaberry Fell too. Both offer up some amazing views.
Directly beneath walla crag is a car park, on the edge of derwent water. The walk started off following a path through great wood
it's late july and these woods provided some extremely muggy conditions. IT's a very pretty part of the walk though with a direct ascent beside cat gill
coming out of the wood
a look back to derwent water and catbells
i'm wondering how much it costs to get in to paragliding. i mean, it's just putting on a parachute and jumping off a hill. they manage to stay up for a while too, so you definitely get your money's worth.
looking back along the path from the woods which takes us up0 to walla crag
blencathra in the distance
the view to the south
up on walla crag. let's see the views.
the view north and down to keswick
another para glider and skiddaw in the distance
heading on towards bleaberry fell in the back there
low moss on our way to bleaberry fell
a quick look back. beautiful day with maximum visibility
sheepfold
heading up bleaberry fell
cairn on bleaberry fell
wind shelter on the top of bleaberry fell
skiddaw and bassenthwaite lake
skiddaw (left) and blencathra (right). 2 x 3000ft peaks
we followed the same route back down to the car park. One very hot day, rewarded with excellent views for miles around.
