I struggle to stay still for very long when I can see mountains around me. Having traveled up today, climbed Little Mell Fell and walked down to Keswick and back, I somehow still felt restless. Tent all set up at Castlerigg Farm, I decided to have an amble up to Walla Crag. I didn't really know the track leading to it, I just saw it and figured it out from there. It turned out to be a very pretty walk.
Leaving the campsite, i headed up the road to where i roughly know a track would start.
Across the footbridge at Brocklebeck and following the obvious path.
Looking back as i ascended. Nice views of the Skiddaw range.
A hole in the wall with a fence built around it. Seemed like a strange solution.
Through the gate and following the narrow track.
No chance for error here.
I was surprised by how pretty the trail was turning out.
Not at the top of Walla Crag but a pretty decent view point still.
Zooming down to Derwent Water.
It was about 8am and i was all alone on Walla Crag.
Heading back down to the campsite
Castlerigg Farm Campsite with Blencathra in the distance.
