Following Gordale Beck
Continuing to follow the Beck through woodland
Janet's Foss. Apparently named after a Fairy Queen who inhabited a cave at the rear of the waterfall.
The Pool was once used as a Sheep Dip.
Climbing out from Janet's Foss we reached Gordale Lane
Alan concerntrating on slippery stepping stones
The entrance to Gordale Scar
This ravine was created by glacial melt water

From hiking boots to plimsoles
Taking a moment and enjoying the scenery
A good bunch of walking friends
Approaching the falls
OK! So where does the path go?
Judging by the man stuck to the rocks, I guess we go up and over.
No photos taken from that section as all hands were busy. Unless you have plenty of adult help, I wouldn't recommend small children attempt this.
The upper section of the Gordale Beck falls. Alan giving Noah a helping hand.
Very pleased with ourselves.
Climbing out of the Scar

Looking down from the path above the last section of Gordale Scar
Rounded Limestone Pavement. Created by glacial retreat and rainfall. Only formed in a few parts of the world.
Mmm! Dad's homemade flapjack. Enjoyed at Malham Tarn.

The view back to Malham from the top of Malham Cove

Another view out from Malham Cove
Looking up from the bottom of Malham Cove. This was once a huge watefall
Now a very popular location for climbers
The end of a great day.
