The start of the ascent up Fleetwith Pike and the Fanny Mercer memorial
Alan assessing the cloud or admiring Buttermere
Haystacks. Our wild camp location looking a little clearer
Cloud topped High Crag and High Stile
Plenty more to climb. We were exposed here to some strong winds. The huge pack on my back was catching the gusts and i was having to be extra careful on the exposed sections.
Looking down to Buttermere with Crummock Water also visible.
A rainbow over towards Hindscarth Edge
As we approached the top of Fleetwith Pike some pretty nasty cloud looked as though it was heading our way. Fortunately it drifted east before reaching us.

Dubs Quarry
Now a bothy and on my list of places to stay a night
The approach to Haystacks passes Green Crag
This was our first possible location for a wild camp. We pushed on to see if there was somewhere better on Haystacks.
Looks like a face in the rock
Innominate Tarn
Making our way along the edge of Haystacks in search of flat land was more difficult than anticipated.
Fleetwith Pike looking razor sharp
Finally a camp spot located with a great view out to Buttermere and Crummock Water. We would later suffer slightly from the wind exposure though.
Zooming out to Crummock Water and Beyond
Cold enough for shaky hands. I didn't remain outside for long.
Early next morning it's raining outside. Time for a much needed brew before packing away.
