Back here again on the Yorkshire Three Peaks. This time I was bringing along some friends from work. One of by oldest and best friend's Colin along with 2 great american friends we work with at our fire department. Kyle and Dan's time in the UK was coming to an end so I was itching to get them out on a hike and one that would be a good challenge. I had told them all about my previous times but to be fair to them, they just wanted to finish it alive lol. As I have done in the past, we arrived the evening before in Horton in Ribblesdale. The local pub was open again and it would be our first pub pints since before the covid19 lockdown had begun. We drank just enough to help us sleep and at 5am we set off on the challenge. unfortunately the Horton Cafe has been closed for a while now and we didn't get the chance to clock-in to have our times recorded. Maybe that was a good thing!!

getting below the cloud we finally get some visibility again. Hoping the other 2 summits will be clear for us.

so the weatherman said it would rain but it was looking rather sunny at high pasture

Shortly before this shot it threw it down with rain. Dan at the bottom really suffering with his back pain now.

Looking further down the track you can just make out dan sat down. he was really suffering at this point. we were very impressed. He did not want to give up.

3 peaks done but still a long way from the finish

very sore feet now and we were talking about how much money it would take for us to ascend pen-y-ghent again today.

That final stretch from ingleborough to the finish line just goes on and on.

beautiful even when your feet are screaming at you for walking over 20 miles!

and we are back in horton. it took in total, 13 hours. A long time, way off my previous times but it was still a great time as always. cant wait to do it all again. so impressed with dan today. I'm sure his memories of this adventure will not be overshadowed by the pain he had to fight through.
