Hard to believe that it has been 9 years since i did a walk just with Noah. I decided to take him on what is probably my all-time favorite hike. It's always fun to come back here and reminisce about my first time in the area on a school trip at age 10.

 

Leaving Youlgreave, we met some of the locals.

I was only here a couple of weeks ago doing the Lathkill Dale hike, which intersects here.

One of the coolest rock features in the Peak District and also a famous movie scene from the 80s. But which movie?

Below the cliff is the Hermit's Cave

Impressive carving into the wall of the very shallow cave.

Noah commented on how beautiful the area looks, with all the tree routes and moss.

About 30 minutes later we arrived at Rowter Rocks, Tucked behind the Druid inn in Birchover.

After exploring rowter rocks we ventured on to stanton moor. i managed to get a quick shot of the cork stone without anyone around it. how much do you dislike a summit hog? you know those that hover around a trig point and don't consider those that want to get a quick photo of the feature without strangers in it. well maybe we should rename them as feature hogs.

AHH, NO FEATURE HOGS!

THE REFORM TOWER ON STANTON MOOR

JUMPING AHEAD A BIT HERE. AFTER LEAVING STANTON MOOR, WE MADE OUR WAY DOWN THROUGH THE VILLAGE OF STANTON IN PEAK (GORGEOUS!) AND THEN THROUGH A COUPLE OF CARAVAN PARKS ON THE WAY TO ALPORT.

LOVELY NARROW BRIDGE AT ALPORT

GREAT USE OF AN OLD PHONE BOX. A GOOD SPOT FOR A CARDIAC EMERGENCY. JUST A SHORT WALK FROM HERE BACK TO YOULGREAVE.

 

SO HERE IS SOMETHING NEW. I'VE ADDED A SHORT FILM TOO.
