I'm sorry, I am not going to be much of a guide here. I learnt little about the area, as i was just hiking around with my jaw dropped, taking it all in. I used various resources on the internet to come up with these routes, including the ALLTRAILS website. I've attached my gps routes for each so they should help you out. All of the hikes over these days are well established and marked. You shouldn't get lost. That being said, have a backup, map or alternate electronic device.
This first location was inspired by my previous trip here back in february in deep snow. Although that day was very enjoyable, it was also kind of a failure due to the limited local knowledge we had of the area and short time. it was great to see things more clearly without the snow now.
parked up at rifugio auronzo, a very popular location for starting hikes and a challenge to get parked. note: arrive early, very early! There is a toll about 5km before the car park which cost approx 30 euros. This is a view from the car park!

Looking down to Lake Misurina.

Rifugio Auronzo has a pretty decent cafe inside that has a variety of drinks and pastries. We hung out for a couple of hours in the hope that the morning clouds would lift as it heated up.

So as far as car parking goes, this is pretty special.

See the figures on the mound? That's where we were heading next.

From the rifugio, you can see the path leading off into the distance for the first of two hikes today. This first hike was a short one to an epic viewpoint. If you use Instagram, you have probably seen the viewpoint approx 1 million times.

The cloud has mostly burnt off, as predicted. Time to start an epic day.

It's funny to look down these slopes and think back to a few months ago when i was last here with my mate Ryan, waist deep in snow, asking ourselves "what are we doing here?"

View back to the rifugio.

Sorry, I cant name anything. An easy route to follow though with some big drops and stunning views.

The paths are well marked and it's easy enough to get where you need to go. You cant really go wrong on this short walk, You can go over the broad top or you can follow the smaller tracks for a little exposure.

Leading on, you can see the trail in the middle of the shot slowly dropping down to a grassy hump. That's the epic viewpoint.

Catherine looking out to the people already on the hump and hoping they wont stay around for long. We actually took the trail up above first to see what it was like up there. It was a nice open grassy area to relax and take it all in.

Looking down to the viewpoint.

The view back to Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Our second hike from the rifugio today, will be to circle these amazing peaks.

OK, it's going to be popular on there.

Looks like another rifugio in the distance. I think it's Rifugio Angelo Bosi al Monte Piana .

More epic views.

Ok, it's our turn now.

Quick few photos whilst we were alone.

Unfortunately, shooting into the sunlight was making taking the photos difficult, I did ok in the conditions but it makes me want to go back at a different time of day.

Heading back with another hike to do.

Hoping the clouds will lift soon but at the same time, they looked pretty special here, as if the mountains were smoking.

view from rifugio auronzo to the town of auronzo (our base camp for the trip).
