Well, it seems weird parking at seathwaite farm and not intending to climb Scafell Pike. With this being a busy spot, we arrived pretty early, just as the packed campsite was starting to wake up. The weather wasn't looking particularly inviting but i was feeling optimistic that it would soon clear up.
parked up and walking towards seathwaite farm, base brown dead ahead.

when we got to seathwaite farm we took the path through the farm gate (archway) to the right.

the ascent of seathwaite slabs and the waterfalls of sourmilk gill.

Looking back down. this is probably the slippiest rocks i have ever been on. even going up was slow. we were not looking forward to heading back down.

even though it was slippery, it's a gorgeous ascent.

watching the feet, constantly.

The path after the steep ascent opens out onto gillercomb.

a gentle ascent but still very slippery. it was like it had rained oil overnight.

after ascending through gillercomb, we circled around the back of base brown. this was the view, lol.

base brown summit cairn. not much else to see, so we turned around and headed back.

back down gillercomb, incredibly slowly. i only stacked it once, but in style as i passed a stream.

looking down to seathwaite before the steep descent.

Slow and steady on a short down scramble.

I'll say again, that was a slow a precarious descent. Do it on a dry day and it will be 10 x easier.
