Looking across to the woodland from Minffordd
waiting at our start point for Geordie. Mynydd Dol-ffanog to the right
The route ahead. We chose the horseshoe
following the path through the wood
A quick breather. It did start out rather steep.
making our way up and out of the wood
The sun came out at this point and I was sure I was going to get burnt
Looking into the haze ahead
We were now able to make out the ridge
Llyn Cau
its a biggy
Looking down as we ascend the Minffordd path ridge
another shot
continuing ahead
Craig Cwm Amarch to the left
continuing along the Minffordd path
Pretending to push Geordie over Craig Cwm Amarch. (we were very careful here)
Not recommended
Could be the largest glacier pool i've seen
The route ahead covered in cloud. This will take us up to the highest summit Penygadair
Looking back to the ridge
and looking back to Craig Cwm Amarch
Geordie leading the way to the top
The summit hut. Great if your caught out in bad weather but not for sleeping in.
Group shot
Lee admiring Cyfrwy (The Saddle)
looking down on the clouds
another shot
a gentle stroll to Mynydd Moel
Mynydd Moel summit
The route down Mynydd Moel isn't clear to begin with. Head down the grassy slope with the fence to your right. Check route map
From here a clear path leads back to the wood
further down
I really liked the walk through the wooded are with all the tangled branches and roots
One of many waterfalls on the Nant Cadair
