This range is called the gastlosen and this was our planned hike for the following day. Unfortunately that next day was gloomy and foggy to the point where we realized wee wouldn't see a thing.
I'm pleased I stopped the car that day and took some photos of it because it looks incredible. We will go back one day!
so with that plan squashed our day changed dramatically. the morning was spent in a swiss chocolate factory near gruyeres. yes, the cheese! a walk around the medieval town, a visit to a cool bar designed by the designer of the alien films and then a hike through a gorge.
tHE WALK AHEAD IS GORGEOUS AND EASY TO FOLLOW
WE PARKED IN THE CAR PARK UNDER THE BRIDGE AT THE EAST END OF BROC TO COMPLETE THIS LINEAR WALK
AS YOU CAN SEE IT'S MOSTLY EASY PROTECTED WALKWAYS BUT THERE IS THE ODD SECTION OF SLIGHTLY MORE RUGGED PATHS
NOT A BAD PLAN B HUH?
THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME THE PATH IS HIGH ABOVE THE WATER
IMPRESSIVE TUNNELS, SOME OF WHICH REQUIRED A TORCH
IT'S CERTAINLY NOT WHAT I EXPECTED ON A HIKE IN SWITZERLAND
BEHIND HERE IS A STEEP PATH UP TO THE DAM. IT'S A PRETTY SKETCHY, SLIPPERY PATH THAT REQUIRED A LOT OF CONCENTRATION
The MONTSALVENS DAM
